Their armies may have been beaten, but they have always dragged themselves back into. Romans are not lacking in fierceness: their city was founded by Romulus and Remus, twins raised by a wolf. like it or not, the united provinces, as they're known in empire, was a much more important player in continental european affairs. Claiming a line of descent back to Hercules, Romans are not lacking in civic pride. once napolean was driven out of portugal they played very little further role.Īt this era in history portugals biggest global influence was really through trade based around their colonies. though i can also understand not including them, portugal really did not have a major impact in europe during that period, even the peninsular campaign. Gotta admit, i too was sad that portugal wasnt playable, my family is portuguese (though im the first born in america) and i would have loved to play them. Patch4Beta STARTPOS and PACK files updated. Rome 2 will have far more factions than ever before, about 120 or so, and only 12 are playable, but that is already as many or more than pretty much all total war titles previously. So since the release of Rome TW 2 many factions have opened up to us like the Greek city states, factions like Sparta and later on more others and now even more Celtic factions, my question is, what would you like to see made playable next Games. Unlocks ALL factions as playable in Total War: Rome II and offers a starting foundation for all factions. In more recent games they have fleshed out the AI factions much more, and that is a good thing, making them into good unique playable factions is another matter. In the past, for example rome 2, you had a number of playable factions, and the the rest of the map was owned by a generic "rebel" faction, which is obviously ridiculous, but thats what they could do at the time.
The fact there are a ton of factions is a good thing. In Empire they even missed out Portugal, yet included Holland? Originally posted by Awesome Gabe:Plus I am quite annoyed that in Empire and Shogun 2 there was about 40 different factions ad you could only play as about 1/4 of them.
